VESTA and GOR are the bio-fireplaces designed for British Fires, an Italian company specialized in alternative fireplaces.

They are the result of a creative factory that took place last year in Rome, promoted by British Fires. deZign Studio supported the management and art direction of the 4-days-long workshop and designed several proposals. The collection of bio-fireplaces that came out from that factory was gathered under the brand Officine del Fuoco, whose products, all made by young emerging designers, are characterized by the use of a particular burner completely safe and TUV certified, bioethanol-powered.

GOR is an hybrid between a  freestanding fireplace and a coffee table. A solid block is stabbed with thin rods designing a contemporary altar for domestic rituals of relax. Its minimal style makes it suitable for all kinds of spaces, while the fire softens the severity of the shape.

VESTA is a wall-fireplace that with its triangular shapes recalls the  geometry of the flame and deconstructs it in a solid black diamond and a laser cut decorated hood. Its lines stretched toward the upper part design a sort of quartz crystal; the metal carving enhances thermal diffusion and create an aura of mystery.

La ricerca sui prodotti eco-sostenibili ed a km 0 continua.

Grazie alla collaborazione con la ICO (Industria cartone ondulato) è nato un nuovo prodotto.

FeniX è un cestino per la raccolta differenziata, destinato ad uffici o centri commerciali, costituito da un unico foglio di cartone da 5 mm, piegato ed incastrato, che rispetta, anche nella stampa, i più sostenibili standard di produzione del prodotto stesso.

La struttura per i tre raccoglitori è in acciaio, nel caso riportato, ma si può avere anche in ferro zincato, piegato e bullonato (senza saldature, per ridurre al minimo l’impronta ecologica in produzione).

Esiste anche una versione per cestino singolo, con base in acciaio o ferro zincato.

FeniX nasce dal progetto di ricerca intitolato “deZign a km 0″, i cui punti principali sono l’eco-sostenibilità dei materiali, della produzione e, soprattutto, la sostenibilità culturale. L’ultimo punto che, riteniamo, il più importante, intende sensibilizzare le persone a temi importanti ed etici attraverso il linguaggio dei prodotti, attraverso quei messaggi che i prodotti portano con loro e che, una buona progettazione, può usare per ridare al progetto quel valore culturale che negli ultimi anni è andata un po’ scemando.

Anche quest’anno il deZign Studio ha partecipato all’evento (Con)fusioni, ideato da Luca Di Francescantonio, curando la sezione dedicata al design ed esponendo il suo ultimo prodotto: GOR. Ibrido tra coffee table e biocamino, questo oggetto è il frutto della Design Factory tenutasi il febbraio scorso a Roma e della collaborazione con British Fires e Puntodifuga Legno&Design.

Again this year deZign Studio took part in the event (Con)fusioni, conceived by Luca Di Francescantonio, curating design section and showing its last product: GOR. Hybrid between a coffee table and biofireplace, it is the result of the Design Factory held in Rome last February and of the collaboration with British Fires and Puntodifuga Legno&Design.
